Dental veneers are a common dental procedure and a great solution for many people looking to improve the appearance of their teeth. What are Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers – also known as porcelain veneers – are thin layers of porcelain, almost like a contact lens, that fit over the front of the teeth to change their appearance. Sometimes veneers can be applied without removing any tooth structure, but often a thin layer of enamel must be removed, replaced and built back – stronger and more beautiful than ever!

Does your Insurance Cover Veneers?
Insurance coverage of dental veneers depends on the individual policy. If you have a dental insurance policy, you’ll need to check with your provider to determine whether dental veneers are covered under your plan.
But many providers consider dental veneers a cosmetic procedure, and therefore they will not cover the cost of veneers. That said, there is wide variation among plans and some exceptions do exist, such as the use of veneers to restore a decayed or broken tooth.
Some plans also include an “Alternate Benefit Clause” or a “Health Spending Account,” which may be utilized to cover some amount of the cost.
Be sure to contact your dental insurance provider to learn what your benefits entail. We will also be happy to look into your dental plan to see if you qualify for dental veneers coverage – stop by the office with your questions and we’ll figure it out together!
